I have been and continue to be a lover of science and reader of science magazines. So I am familiar with current trends in science and technology. A few years ago I began to wonder what a future world would be like if current trends continued in the areas of climate change, editing of the human genome, robotics, driver-less cars, quantum computing, etc. As the days, weeks and months went by I just couldn’t keep my mind off those wonderings, especially since I continued to read science magazines. So I began to write down my thoughts. Eventually I started to organize my thoughts into a book.

So my story begins sixty years from now. Climate change is real, threatening and humanity is struggling. Fossil fuels are heavily regulated. A flood of climate change refugees have moved and continue to move north. In the areas of technology, high speed rail, driver-less cars and robots are common. Genetic engineering of the human genome is common.
